The current Grosse Pointe Public Library Millage expires in 2027.
The proposal on the Nov. 3, 2026 ballot is to RENEW the current millage.
In 2011, voters approved a millage witha maximum of 0.700 mils. The Board of Trustees levied 0.6432.
This millage comprises 30% of the library's annual revenue.
The millage is used for all library operations including staff, books, technology, buiilding maintenance, and improvements.
WHY NOW?
The current millage expiires in 2027. The Board chose the November election for transparency and to eliminate special election costs.
